Whilst this post will probably change in to a review for the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel it is, for the time being going to be a post on the website and booking process.
The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is absolutely stunning, it is designed like The Grand Floridian (which is probably why I like it so much) and as we only have one night and two days in Hong Kong Disneyland during our up coming trip, we thought we would ‘splurge’ and stay here. It is expensive to stay here but not ‘Disney expensive’. If we were staying more than one night then we certainly would not have booked the Kingdom Club room, we would have booked the standard room with the free deluxe upgrade.
If you have ever looked/ booked a holiday/package through the Walt Disney World website then you will easily be able to navigate the Hong Kong Disneyland website, it is exactly the same layout and design except all the prices are in Hong Kong Dollars. It is extremely easy to convert between the HKD and GBP, we use a rough guide of 10/1. For any other currencies, I recommend having the XE conversion webpage open a the same time to convert the prices for you. (We have to do this when looking on the Tokyo and Shanghai sites).
You are able to book Hong Kong Disneyland hotel rooms 13 months in advance. There is a promotion on at the moment (to be honest I think it is is an all year promotion as I have never seen it not on), book 21 days in advance and receive 15% off room rates and book 7 days in advance and receive 10% off room rates. Also each standard room booked is eligible for an upgrade to a deluxe room if there are rooms free. More often than not there are, the hotel will contact you if no room upgrade is available.
Standard room prices start at 1,955HKD (around £195), a deluxe room starts at 2,040HKD (around £204) and sea view room with balcony starts at 2,210HKD (around £221) the price between the rooms are minimal, which is why we ‘splurged’ on a Kingdom Club Room for 2,890HKD (around £289) at 30% off. It is also worth noting that a 10% service charge will also be added to each room booked.
After selecting the room, there will be a selection of options to add on to your trip, you can bypass these or select from the following, park tickets, breakfast/dinner at a restaurant in the hotel or a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique make over. If any of these are selected then there is no service charge added to these.
If you are staying on a room with an offer included then there can be no cancellations, amendments or refunds after the booking process is complete. Payment is also required when booking, if you are staying one night then full payment of the room plus 10% service charge will be charged. If anymore than one nights stay is booked then a deposit of one nights stay plus 10% service charge will be charged and the rest will be paid upon check in. I recommend booking with a credit card not a debit card if you are an international guest.
