Is it date night? An engagement celebration? Birthday surprise? Or just because? Any of these and Disney has you covered on romantic things to do.
I am a huge romantic and I blame Disney for my love of love. Or as I call it ‘Disney love’. Having a handsome prince, an animal sidekick or a fairytale ending, I dream of all these things, daily, and yes, to me visiting any Disney property is as magical and romantic as it can get. There is nothing wrong with dreaming.
Here are some of the top romantic things to do across Walt Disney World.
Go for a meal and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks – The Grand Floridian is probably the most romantic resort on property due to the Victorian feel. The signature restaurants here a also no exception. I suggest booking a table at Narcoossees just before the fireworks start and requesting a window seat or booking a table at Citricos and aimed to be finished eating before they start and watch from The Grand Floridian beach, it is never crowded here.
Have a spa day – Walt Disney World has two spas on property, Senses at The Grand Floridian and Senses at Saratoga Springs. Both offer pretty much the same experiences. Here you can relax and unwind and forget you are even in a theme park. Couples massages start from $290 up to $400. A little pricey but a great way for a couple to spend the day.
Take a ride in a horse drawn carriage – This can either be done at one of the Port Orleans resorts or at Fort Wilderness. During the month of December the horse drawn carriage rides become horse drawn sleigh rides. Perfectly festive. The rides at both locations cost $55 for 25 minutes and it is recommended to book before you arrive.
Have a photoshoot – Disney photo pass photographers are fantastic and if you are celebrating a special occasion they are more than happy to help, they can set up some fantastic photos of you that you can have turned in to canvases for your home.
In-room celebration – Staying on Disney property? Arrange for a special treat for inside your room. Whether it be a bunch of flowers and chocolates or a balloon and spa packages, Disney has you covered. Basic packages start at $50 and go up to $700.
Go for a walk – The least expensive thing on the list, but probably one of the most intimate. Spend time with your partner and walk around your resort or a neighbouring resort. I love to walk the grounds of The Grand Floridian and The Polynesian and just talk, it is perfect.
Propose – Disney is as I have said, extremely romantic and is a great setting for a proposal and some engagement photos. Popular locations include infront of Cinderella’s Castle, during a Princess meet and greet or during/after the fireworks. If you need help with a special Disney proposal, give them a call and they can help you set this up. Have a look online there are some wonderful stories.
Get married – What could be more romantic than a proposal at Walt Disney World? Well a wedding at Walt Disney World of course! Planning can start up to 16 months out and prices currently range from $3600 for the extremely basic package to the hundreds of thousands of dollars to be married infront of Cinderella’s Castle.
