We all know how expensive a trip to Walt Disney World can be, however, there are plenty of free things that Disney offer that you can do whilst on your trip.
Hotel hopping – Hotel hopping is completely free, using the internal, bus, boat, monorail system, you can easily navigate your way around the resorts to see what they have to offer. Such as speciality merchandise, food and events. Hotel hopping is one of my favourite things do on a weekend day when I am visiting WDW, it takes you away from the busy parks and allows you to see the resorts you might not be able to stay at. It is also worth noting that several of the hotels offer free tours. Some require reservations but they are free non the less.
Taking family photos around the park – The Disney photo pass team work within the Disney parks, annual pass holders and UK ultimate ticket holders receive Memory Maker for free. This allowed as many photos as you like to be taken. Also on My Disney Experience allows you to make edits and add effects to your photos. These can be used to make holiday cards, engagement or wedding announcements etc.
Visit Disney Springs – Even if you do not spend a dollar, Disney Springs has so much to offer, great shops and eating locations and so much to see. There are musicians that play in multiple locations around DS. Ghiradelli offer free chocolate samples in their store. The LEGO store has a section out the front where children can build a racing car and race them along other children, if they win, they can keep the car they have built. Raglan Road and House of Blues offer free live music each night.
Watch a movie – All the Disney resorts offer free smores making along with a Disney movie each night. It is usually an inflatable screen where the movie is projected. Movies are planned a week ahead.
Play mini golf – Fantasia gardens and the Winter/ Summer course at Blizzard Beach offer free rounds of golf to annual pass holders and UK ultimate tickets holders. The usual price is around $15.
Go Swimming – Again, it costs nothing to swim at your home resort.
Watch Happily Ever After from the beach – Not an actual beach, but on the beaches of The Polyneisan and The Grand Floridian have benches, hammocks and deck chairs to sit and relax to watch the firework show from Magic Kingdom. There are no crowds and no wait for a spot on these beaches. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Take a romantic walk – Perfect spots for a late night stroll include, The Boardwalk, the Polynesian Beach and around Port Orleans Riverside.
Stay at your home resort – Home resorts offer their guests colouring, tye dye t-shirt making, pool games and quizzes through out the day. Perfect if you fancy a lazy day.
Visit Ye Old Christmas Shop – If you and your child is the first to visit the Ye Old Christmas in Magic Kingdom, they can decorate their Christmas tree and it will stay decorated that way for the rest of the day.
Kidcot Funstop – Younger guests who visit EPCOT can take part in colouring and learning about cultures from around the world.
Visit Club Cool – In EPCOT and drink as much free flavoured Cokes you like from from around the world.
